Text

This is my land – my America.
This is my home so dear to me.
My Uncle Sam made America
A mighty land where folks are free.
It’s a land of plains and forests.
It’s a land of mountains high.
It’s a land of great big cities
Where skyscrapers kiss the sky.

Over all our flag is flying,
Bright its red and white and blue.
Every state is represented.
There’s a star for me and you.
This is my land – my America.
This is my home so dear to me.
This is my pledge to America –
Protect our land and keep it free.

Kansas, Utah, and Nebraska
Grow fine wheat and tall corn too.
California, Arizona
Send their oranges straight to you.
Way down South is Alabama
Where the cotton grows so white.
Further on is Louisiana.
There is sugar-cane’s just right.
This is my land – my America . . .

Washington has salmon fisheries.
Oregon has salmon, too.
Blue grass grows in old Kentucky.
Peaches blush in Georgia dew.
Mississippi has its Delta.
Florida its Everglades.
In Nevada old prospectors
Search for gold with mules and spades.
This is my land – my America . . .

Texas has its cattle ranches.
Potatoes come from Idaho.
Golden grain in both Dakotas.
Iron is made in Ohio.
Michigan has salt and copper.
Maine and Vermont have tall pines.
Oklahoma pumps its oil well.
Colorado works its mines.
This is my land – my America . . .

Illinois and Indiana,
Rich the soil for farming there.
That is true of Minnesota,
Also true of Delaware.
Iowa, North of Missouri,
Corn and what states side by side.
Connecticut for manufact’ring,
Ship-yards by Rhode Island’s tide.
This is my land – my America . . .

Carolinas grow tobacco.
Silver’s from New Mexico.
Dairy farms are in Wisconsin.
In Wyoming, rodeo.
Coal is mined in West Virginia.
Pennsylvania makes strong steel.
Cod fish comes from Massachusetts.
Cotton is Arkansas’ yield.
This is my land – my America. . . .

Tall the time in Montana
Oysters come from Maryland.
New York is the fashion center.
Fact’ries in New Jersey stand.
Maple sugar in New Hampshire.
Cotton’s ginned in Tennessee.
Capitol of all our nation,
Lovely Washington, D. C.
This is my land – my America . . .
