Thirteen Dickinson Songs was composed by George Perle from 1977-8. The song cycle, which of course sets the poetry of Emily Dickinson, uses George Perle's "12-note tonality" compositional method.
About
The song cycle was commissioned for Bethany Beardslee by the National Endowment for the Arts and was premiered by Beardslee at Westminster Choir College (Princeton, NJ) on June 19, 1978 as part of the Fifth Annual Art Songs Festival.
