Serenata

Serenata is a song cycle of five songs composed by Scott Wheeler. It sets the poetry of Mark Van Doren. This song cycle exists in several versions. The version for tenor and guitar was composed for tenor Marshall Hughes and guitarist John Muratore (1991). The version for tenor and piano was premiered by Paul Kirby and Anthony Tommasini at the Warebrook Festival in 1994. There is also a version for baritone and piano.
