Composed by Jake Heggie
Text by Gene Scheer

Song Collection

Rise and Fall is a song cycle by Jake Heggie setting four texts of Gene Scheer. The cycle was composed for soprano Constance Rock on a commission from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, generously funded by Dr. Raymond and Beverly Sackler. The first performance took place on March 29, 2007 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs with soprano Constance Rock and pianist Jake Heggie. The audio for "Angels' Wings" is made possible through a collaboration between the Hampsong Foundation and SongFest. The performers are Sophie Wingland, soprano, and Victoria Kirsch, piano, and that particular performance took place at Pepperdine University at SongFest 2010.
