Text

Nude at the Piano
by Mark Campbell

Here I sit,
Nude at the piano,
on this cold, cold stool.
I got with me here
A bottle of beer
And I’m feeling like a fool.

And while I
Brood at the piano
You are somewhere faraway.
So I sit and I freeze
And I stare at the keys
Wishing I knew how to play.

I would jump
Off the Verrazano
but I’m really just too blue…

So I sit,
Nude at the piano,
The piano
I bought for you.
