Text

From My Ántonia
by Willa Cather

As the train flashed,
We were talking about (childhood in a little prairie
town)

No clouds…
the sun…red disk…
against the horizon…

In my memory…pictures
Ántonia kicking her bare legs against the side of my
pony;
Ántonia . . .
as she stood by her father’s grave;
Ántonia running . . . .
Ántonia dancing . . . .
Ántonia coming in (from) her work.. . .
against the evening sky.. . .
(standing out) against the (horizon) . . .
a picture writing on the sun.
