Edward Rowland Sill

Edward Rowland Sill holds an important place among minor poets in American history, a place that could have been much higher if not for his early death at the age of 46.

About

A native of Connecticut, Sill was first and foremost a teacher, working as a teacher and principal at schools in Ohio and then holding a position at the University of California as an English professor. Most of Sill’s poetry was originally published in periodicals, especially in The Atlantic Monthly, though they were later published in a number of volumes.
