Howard Moss
Poetry editor of the New Yorker from 1950 to 1987, Howard Moss was an important figure in the careers of many American poets since the mid-twentieth century. Moss' own poetry has been set by American composers Morton Lauridsen, Otto Luening, and Ned Rorem.
About
Born in New York City, Howard Moss taught briefly at Vassar College before beginning his career at the New Yorker. Even though he is more well known for his work as an editor, Moss was a gifted poet, devoted to developing his craft throughout his entire life.
