Born in Brooklyn, Connecticut, Emily Huntington Miller graduated from Oberlin College and was an active writer of poetry, novels, and articles. She wrote for the children’s magazine The Little Corporal in addition to serving as Associate Editor of the Ladies Home Journal. She was one of the founders of the children’s publication St. Nicholas.
