About
A Beginning was Horan’s only book and one of the most important works to come out of the Activists group. The Activists of the 1940s wrote intense, driven poetry, derived from American and English models in Modernism. Horan’s great technical virtuosity and the influence of American poet Hart Crane can be seen in A Beginning.
