About
Born in Sugar Land, Texas, Mason Bynes is a vocalist, multi-media artist and composer. Her music emphasizes her mission to bridge gaps between genres, performance settings, and sounds in order to unite audiences. She holds a Master of Music in composition from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelors of Music in composition from the University of North Texas.
From 2021-2022, Bynes was a resident composer within the Boston Art Song Society, which featured a presentation of her music at the Rosa Parks Museum. During this residency, she wrote music for wind quintet, chamber orchestra, voice, and classical guitar. In addition to her work in Boston, she has been commissioned by The National Association of Teachers of Singing, Bass Players for Black Composers, Lumedia Works, and many more organizations.
Beyond her work with classical song, Bynes works on the film/tv composition team at Raging Cloud Studios and serves as a Career Services Advisor at Berklee. She is able to impart her expertise on creating a defined mission as an artist to young musicians studying at the conservatory.
