Elizabeth Barrett Browning

English poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning was passionate about progressive social causes, and about her love for her husband, poet Robert Browning. American composers who have been drawn to her passion include Ernst Bacon, Amy Marcy Beach, Eleanor Everest Freer, Norman Dello Joio, Libby Larsen, and Ned Rorem.
