About
Dr. Beach, who was 24 years older than his wife, taught at Harvard Medical School and practiced at Massachusetts General Hospital. After their marriage, Mrs. Beach curtailed her concertizing in favor of homemaking, and began to compose. She set several of her husband’s poems to music.
